L'invention concerne les machines-outils. Le procédé faisant l'objet de l'invention est caractérisé en ce que la distance H entre le plan 1 de disposition de l'axe 2 de l'outil de coupe 3 et le plan 4, dit principal, passant par l'axe 5 des pointes de centrage du tour, et l'angle phiv de disposition de l'axe 2 de l'outil de coupe 3 par rapport à la projection de l'axe principal 5 sur le plan 1 de l'axe 2 de l'outil 3, sont choisis de manière à satisfaire la relation
