Abstract

A fork lift truck with a push-pull loading and unloading device has a vertical plate(6) connected by a parallelogram linkage to the slide supporting the fork. A cross beam(15), incorporates a locking device which enables it to be locked either to the lower edge of the plate(6) or to the slide supporting the fork. This cross beam(15) is also provided with a clamp which can grip the edge of flexible sheet which is placed on the fork prongs underneath the load. When the load is pushed onto the stack of sacks(20) the sheet can, if required, stay with the load so that it can be gripped by the cross beam when the load is later removed.
