Abstract

An underwater mask comprises a combination of a curved screen of semi-rigid transparent material and a border of flexible sheet incorporating a tube contng. a continuous cord. The cord is exposed at each end of the mask so that the mask may be anchored and the cord tensioned by an elastic strap around the wearer's head. The tensioned cord seals the border against the wearer's face. The mask offers less restriction to vision or motion into or through the water than conventional masks with a rigid plane window mounted well clear of the face. Specifically, the masks has a polycarbonate window in a rubber border fitted with a woven nylon cord. Pref. the border has a panel which covers the nose.
