Abstract

The lawn aerator consists of two parallel cutter shafts (11, 12) which are joined by a chain drive. Blades (14, 15) are mounted on each shaft. The blades (14) of one shaft are staggered in position in relation to the other shaft. The speeds of the shafts are set at a particular transmission ratio, and the directions of rotation of both cutter shafts are the same. The blade shafts are mounted on the one frame (10) which is pushed by hand, and has a U-shaped handle (17) for the person pushing. The blades are in the form of circular discs with radially protruding teeth (26, 27) round the circumference.
