Abstract

The prefabricated building section comprises a window unit (1) surrounded by a shell (2). The box shaped unit (1) has four outside surfaces coated in a layer of glass impregnated with thermosetting resin. The shell (2) consists of a core (7) of isothermal material, such as phenolic foam, sandwiched between two layers (8, 9) of glass impregnated with thermosetting resin soldered onto the outer layer (5) of the shell. The core (7) of the shell has at least one ridge which stands out (10) to form, with the adjacent part, a dihedron with an angle of opening of less than ninety degrees, so as to form a cavity (11) in the inside surface of the shell. Alternatively, the surface (9) of the shell (2) can have two protruding ridges forming a dovetailed shaped recess in the core (7).
