Abstract

The connecting branch is held onto the main pipe by means of a strap (11) which is tightened on the pipe by a bolt (12). The bolt is kept in position by two dowels attached to the straps. The strap holds the pad (25) against the outside wall of the pipe (20). The pad houses an '0' ring (6) which seals the centre of the pad from the outside. The pad has a cylindrical connection for the pipe attachment. The branch connection is lined with a cone (13) which pulls the pipe and the pad together.
