Abstract
A stationary inverted channel (1) has inclined slots (10) in its side walls. An inverted channel (2) spans channel (1) and the channels are connected by pins (11) which pass through the slots (10). Two inflatable bags are arranged end to end in the space defined between the channels. On inflation of the bags channel (2) is caused to lift and move in the direction of the arrow, carrying a load placed on its upper surface. Deflation of the bags causes channel (2) to drip and move rearwardly. Re-inflation causes the load to be moved forward a further step.
