Abstract

The axis of the spring is vertical, the tube formed by the spring fitting at the top into a plate and being plugged at the bottom. A suitable frame can be incorporated if it is to be used in a fluid with a turbulent flow. The filter can be cleaned by a shock wave from a counter-current flow, produced by the controlled expansion of a pocket of air trapped above the filtration liq. A cheap pre-filtration appts. is used. The cleaning is 100% effective and allows the automatic use of the filter for 24 hrs. a day for several months without stopping it.
