Abstract

The information display within a public transport vehicle, eg a bus or tram, allows the position of the vehicle along its route and the approaching station etc to be displayed. A memory stores the complete route map for the different various routes along which the vehicle may travel, with means for extracting information from the memory in dependence on time elapsed or distance travelled, to indicate the vehicle position. The information display may incorporate an advertising display which may vary during progress of the vehicle.
