Abstract

The support frame used for supporting glazed wall tile during final firing, consists of loosely fitted ceramic pressed components. The frame has rectangular baseplate and rectangular cover plate and several vertical support struts with edge slots. These profiles are held at their ends in the base and top plates. Several such frames can be stacked and can be readily dismantled for transport. Tiles of various formats can be placed on the support profile and the support profiles reinforces the frame. Each support profile pair (4) has inwards pointing rows of teeth (15). Between each support profile pair are fitted long narrow horizontal support elements (5) which project on both sides of the support profiles. The tiles are placed on the supports so that the glazed face to be fired is at top.
