Abstract

The fork lift truck has an electronic regulator to prevent the vehicle from negotiating bends at too high a speed. The steering wheel movements cause a potentiometer to transmit a signal corresponding to the steering angle to a comparator. The truck speed control pedal is similarly provided with a device to pass signals to the comparator that corresponds to speed. The combined signals are compared with a programmed value to adjust the speed recording. The coupling could also be achieved by a mechanical system. The engine turns a hydrostatic drive, and a single lever works changeover valves so that a left or a right hand lever movement controls vehicle steering and a backwards or forwards movement controls hydrostatic oil pump lift.
