Abstract

The mounting is for a cutting flail used in a mower for clearing scrub etc. The cutting blades (4) or flails can be held in cylindrical holes or slots and when worn, they can be quickly replaced. Each blade is held on a stirrup shaped support (3), a special pincer like being used to open the stirrup and release it from a seating (2) which is welded on to the rotor. The seating is itself a rod and almost semicircular. The special tool is made in the form of an expanding pair of tongs.
