Abstract

Graduated syringe is partic. intended for the safe prepn. of mixts., such as fungicides and weed eradicators, for market gardening purposes; the ingredients are generally in powder from which are harmful if inhaled or come into contact with the hands. The syringe has a piston, manually, controlled by the rod and the handle. The rod passes through the hole in the stopper which closes the end of the tube. Holes allow the passage of air during use. The opposite end is closed by the base and has a tube which dips into the prod. to be measured. A handle enables a better grip to be obtd. on the syringe. The piston is fitted with a sealing ring. The prods. to be mixed are sucked up by the syringe followed by measured quantity of the diluent; the tubular end is closed and the syringe shaken until soln. is complete. The graduations enable the different proportions of the ingredients to be measured accurately. Dangerous chemicals can safely be handled in the syringe which is simple, strong and low is cost.
