Abstract

The mechanised coal mining unit provides good lateral stability and prevents sliding of the unit down the seam incline. It can be operated remotely, avoiding the need for miners at the face. The fixed part (18) of each telescopic wall (4) is connected via a linkage and a strut (21) with the base plate (1) of the neighbouring section of the platform (2) so that a spacious structure is created. Brackets (29 are welded to the base plate and serve as stops for the lever pairs (9) to which the protective wall (20) is attached. Each base plate has a recess (16) for the shoe (13) which supports the prop (12).
