Abstract

An impact covering for sports grounds and playgrounds which withstands well the impact produced by feed is several cm thick and has a distinct heterogeneity of compactness in its depth, being more compact in its upper zone than in the remaining depth of the layer. The covering, about 4 cm thick, is of light concrete, e.g. of compsn.: 250 1 expanded clay (3-8 mm granule size), 125 1 sand (0-6 mm granule size), 80 1 cement, 9 1 polyvinyl acetate, 30-40 1 H2O. The surface of the impact covering canbe covered with a layer of epoxy resin at the rate of 1-2 l/m2. Between the impact covering and the epoxy resin there is pref. a coating of the following compsn.: 4 1 fine silica (1-2 mm granule size), 1 1 cement, and 1 1 polyvinyl acetate previously mixed with 2 1 H2O.
