Abstract

The electronic timepiece has an oscillator, supplying clock pulses to a counter circuit coupled to a variable coldisplay. A selector switch, for selecting the required display function is also used to modify the colour of the display modification of the drive signal applied to the display. Pref. the display uses a mixture of liquid crystals, with the colour variation obtained by varying the double refractive characteristics of the display, via altering the direction of the liquid crystal molecules. The different colours may be obtained by varying the frequency of the drive signal.
