Abstract

The composite continuously slotted hollow rectangular section comprises a guide rail for accordion type retractable screens, and may be of extruded aluminium. The section functions as either top or bottom rail and forms two laterally adjacent slotted asymmetric rectangular tracks. The larger track is slotted on a horizontal face, i.e. that facing the screen, and the smaller is slotted on a side wall. The top rail is mounted by cantilever brackets (8), bolts and distance pieces (7). The bolts pass through intermittent longitudinal slots (5) in the top wall of the larger track, and engage transverse open-ended slots (9) in the cantilever bracket (8). The end of the screen may be anchored by locking the first hinge axle in the lesser track, and by means of a bolt, a square nut (17) and a slotted angle iron (11). The moving end of the screen may be secured by a lockable carriage in the bottom rail.
