Abstract

The rectangular filter unit (1) has an internal partition (4) dividing it into two spaces. The partition has an opening (5) and a fan (6) is placed with its inlet on one side of the partition and its outlet discharging through the opening. The casing has double perforated walls (9, 10) round the fan inlet space with a filter (8) between the two parts (9, 10) of the wall. An outlet unit forming a separate component has adjustable louvres in a frame with a flange round it. The outlet unit can be flanged directly to an opening in the discharge side of the filter unit. Alternatively it can be fixed to the canopy of a workbench hood and connected to the filter unit by a length of ducting.
