Abstract
L'invention décrit un procédé de purification du chlorure de polyvinyle (CPV). On fait passer une suspension aqueuse de particules de CPV dans une colonne sensiblement verticale, munie d'une série de plaques horizontales perforées sans déversoirs; la suspension est introduite vers le sommet de la colonne et la vapeur d'eau vers le bas de la colonne, de façon à permettre le suintement de la suspension à travers les perforations en luttant contre le courant de vapeur d'eau sans engorger la colonne (température de la suspension dans la colonne : 90 degrés C-150 degrés C; durée médiane de séjour des particules : 1 à 20 minutes; demi-écart interquartile de la durée de séjour des particules : < 5 minutes); on retire du bas de la colonne la suspension strippée et du haut de cette colonne la vapeur d'eau et le chlorure de vinyle monomère. Le procédé est notamment applicable à du CPV particulaire obtenu par polymérisation en suspension.The invention describes a process for purifying polyvinyl chloride (CPV). An aqueous suspension of CPV particles is passed through a substantially vertical column provided with a series of perforated horizontal plates without overflows; the suspension is introduced towards the top of the column and the water vapor towards the bottom of the column, so as to allow the suspension to seep through the perforations while combating the current of water vapor without clogging the column (temperature of the suspension in the column: 90 degrees C-150 degrees C; median particle residence time: 1 to 20 minutes; interquartile half range of particle residence time: <5 minutes); the stripped suspension is removed from the bottom of the column and the water vapor and the monomeric vinyl chloride from the top of this column. The process is particularly applicable to particulate PVC obtained by suspension polymerization.
