Abstract

The transmission is for cross country type vehicle with two driven axles. After the engine (1) there is placed a gear box (2) and a transfer box (3). This transfers the engine torque to the side of a differential of the self locking type (4). Transmission shafts leave the differential (4). One goes to forward banjo housing with a normal type differential (5) which drive the two front wheels (6). The other shaft goes to a rear banjo housing or to a self locking differential (7). This differential drives the two rear wheels (8). The arrangement dives automatic distribution of tractive effort to front and rear, depending on available adhesion and between the two rear wheels.
