Abstract

The head is employed in acupuncture for massaging a patient locally and is provided with tools of different metals, silver and gold or these plated on base metals, copper, zinc. Each tool (7) has a cylindrical body, its end being domed; a variant is in the form of a flat circular disc. Each tool is held in a chuck (2, 3) by means of a straight shank (11). This chuck forms part of an electric motor (1) mounted in a hand held casing and operated by a switch (12). The motor drive can provide rotary motion and a reciprocating motion, or a combination of these.
