Abstract

The joint is made up from a strip of material (a) which is flexible. The strip is anchored at the ends by being buried in a compound material on either side of the joint. The strip material is perforated with slots or holes (c). The holes are also filled with compound to form a permanent joint. The flexible joint may be mounted at right angles in or at another angle in a joint and the quantity of expansion may be determined by the folds in the material strip.
