Abstract

A lawnmower comprises a removable grass collection container having an emptying opening closed by a cover pivotably mounted on the lawnmower frame. The side walls (1, 2) of the container comprise a flexible grille, pref. of plastics, with a mesh sufficiently fine to stop the grass cuttings and fixed on a rigid frame (5, 7). The grille comprises woven threads. The mesh size is between 1.5 x 3 mm and 0.5 x 0.5 mm, pref. 1 x 1 mm. The grille forms the rear and upper walls (4, 3) as well as the side walls (1, 2). A handle (12) is slidably secured to a member (13) by screws (14) engaging elongated holes (15). When the handle (12) is slid forwards, it projects over the pivotable cover to keep it closed. A flexible air deflector (20) is fixed to the upper rear edge of the container. The lower edges of the side and rear walls (1, 2, 3) are fixed to a rigid base plate (10).
