Abstract

The paint spraying gun (1) is provided with a paint container (3) supported from the lid (2). The lid (2) is provided with a PTFE plug (7) with a small hole of 0.3 to 0.5 mm dia. This hole allows air to flow into the container as the paint is being sprayed. When the gun (1) is pointed downwards or upwards to spray horizontal surfaces there is a tendency for the paint to flow out through the vent hole. By using PTFE the paint does not stick to the surfae of the hole and so the tendency to flow out is much reduced. The plug outlet is surrounded by a circular ridge to catch any drops which nevertheless might flow through the plug.
