Abstract
A rotary cooling or heating drum, particularly a drum for cooling clinker (M) from a furnace, rotates about a horizontal axis and carries fans (1) on the outside, discharging into a distributor ring at one end. This has a ring of branch pipes (2) extending from it, along the drum, connected to discharge holes (6) through the drum. The electrical supply to the motors includes conductor rings (4) around the drum in contact with a pantograph system (5). The flow of air can be regulated by vanes (8) mounted on each longitudinal pipe and which can be remote controlled.
