Abstract

The piston-type pneumatic positioning actuator for use on windows, roof lights ventilating dampers etc. has a mechanical arresting device which comes into operation, when the preset position of the element is reached. The assembly is fitted on piston rod (2) extension consisting of split pistons (3a) and (3b) actuating disc (15) with sets of springs (16) distributed radially and penetrating the thickness of the disc and clamping discs (4) and (5) with sets of barrel rollers (11) and (12) operating on the tapered circumferences of the discs. The split pistons are fitted slidingly with a slight axial play on hubs (3a) and (3b). In a mechanically arrested position the corresponding set of barrel rollers rests tightly in the annular gap formed by the tapered circumference of the clamping disc and the inside surface of cylinder (6). If air pressure is applied via connection (9) to split piston (3a) it slides to the right hereby pushing barrel rollers (11) out of engagement.
