Abstract

The two lens frames (2A, 2B) are made from a moulded synthetic resin, and each has complementary hinge elements (5A, 5B) at the inner front edge, so that the assembled spectacles frame can be folded at the centre. The arms of the spectacles frame are hinged at the temple to the respective lens frame so that they fold inwards behind the latter, and they pref. have a length approximately equal to the diameter of the lenses. The central hinge elements of each lens frame (2A, 2B) comprise alternating identical cylinder, which are held together by passing a hinge pin through them.
