Abstract

A portable stand is described for projection lamps, spotlights etc. It consists of a) a vertical round or rectangular section column (1) and b) a flat rectangular support arm (3) with an attached subsidiary arm (6) both of which contain holes slightly larger than the column section. Under the action of the coupl F provided by the weight on the arm (3) the column is "pinched" at the edges (4) and (5) and the arm held by friction. No other fixing devices are required. Change in position is brought about by lightly raising the far end of (3) and sliding along the column.
