Abstract

Continuous mixing of cattle feed achieved by using belts or paddle wheels to deliver measured quantities from hoppers to a common mixing duct. Each hopper (1) feeds onto its own belt moving at constant speed and driven by a common motor. The delivery duct is right angled and the feed quantity is controlled by a sliding shutter (10) which restricts the feed orifice. The operating gear (11, 12) is controlled manually, or electrically from a main panel. Remotely controlled clutches select the hoppers required. Fed into a mixing duct, the contents are removed by an archimedean screw. The belts may be replaced by paddle wheels.
