Abstract

Polyether-polyols compsns. for prepg. polyurethanes with improved flame resistance contain liq. polyglycidyl ethers of formula (I) as flame retardant. where A is 2-6C aliph. gp. of valency n, B are halogenated units derived from epichlorhydrin and n is an integer such that 1= n x =10 n. (I) impart permanent flame resistance to polyurethane and reduce the viscosity of halogenated polyether-polyols compsns. thereby improving processing. Unlike prior art non reactive flame retardant additives (I) do not affect the mechanical properties of polyurethane foams.
