Abstract

The burner liquid fuel feed system is particularly for low-grade petroleum products. It comprises a decanting basin (58) supplied with fuel from a storage tank, and fuel in the basin is kept at the temperature necessary for pouring for a set period. A fuel storage sump (70) accommodates fuel freed of impurities after delivery into the basin. A pump transfers fuel to the basin from the storage tank, and operates dependent on the fuel level in the basin, stopping when this reaches a predetermined maximum level. A timer unit (66) monitors the duration of decantation, and when this is over empties the basin into the sump. The sump is restarted when a predetermined minimum level in the basin is reached. The burner is supplied from the sump.
