Abstract
A positive active material for lead accumators comprises initially >=90% PbO2, 6% PbO and PbSO4. The active material is produced by applying the paste to grids, allowing the plates obtained to mature and electrochemically treating these plates for >50 h at 30-60 degrees C. The accumulators have increased shelf life due to low self-discharge.
