Abstract

The cable (10) may be synthetic fibres or of natual fibres. The ends of the cable are laid back over the end (20), and evenly distributed round the cable. A metal core (32) such as a steel or copper nail is inserted in the core of the cable. The cable end consists essentially of a hollow cylinder bored out to a diameter (22). The end is terminated with an eye (28) but might take the form of a screwed fitting or any other desired form. The end is held onto the cable by crimping so as to form a head on the cable (20) so that it cannot pull through.
