Abstract
A wire drawing machine has an adjustable die holder (5). To obtain a stable wire coil diameter on the draw drum (2), the wire from the die (6) reaches the drum at an angle which produces a coil that tends to contract. To alter the die position relative to the drum (2), a double acting pneumatic cylinder (9) swivels the die holder (6) about a pivot (4) against a stop screw (12). This adjustment occurs at the beginning of the drawing operation after the leading wire end has been attached to the drum. The guide (5) for the die has a stop (12) to limit its outward movement when the cylinder is operated.
