Abstract

An apparatus is claimed to trap and secure the end of a yarn on the bobbin, in an automatic winding machine with a latch needle mounted axially parallel with the counter pressure unit over the winding zone of the bobbin. As the counter pressure unit over the winding zone of the bobbin. As the counter pressure and bobbin rotate together, the latch needle is withdrawn in a series of back steps to pull the cut yarn end under the coiled windings of yarn. The mechanism ensures that the initial end of the yarn is held securely in place, without the use of an adhesive strip or other securing method, giving a clean withdrawal without affecting the user textile machine, partic, a sewing machine drawing thread off the bobbin.
