Abstract

Solid cosmetic or detergent compsn. for protecting keratin materials, esp. the skin, consists of (I) a surfactant and (II) either (a) defatted soya protein or (b) a protein deriv. The compsn. protects the skin againts extraction of oil by detergents, and also against unfavourable climatic conditions. This protection is provided even when the compsn. is present in the detergent itself, e.g. a soap bar or granular synthetic or nonionic detergent.
