Abstract
The electric razor motor has an optimised design with a low copper volume. Both D.C. and A.C. forms are possible and are based on a varying reluctance type motor providing linear movement for the cutting parts. The stator (3) is shaped, the single energising winding (4) surrounding the centre leg of the E. Each leg of the E is shaped to provide a mating shape to the surface of the moving element (21). This is provided with an orthodox pivot (1) and two return springs and in D.C. types will operate an automatic field reversing switch.
