Abstract

The instrument comprises a support plate (10) having a notch (13) in one side fitting over the nose. A number of datum blades (20) slide inside the plate and emerge in the notch to bear against the nose. They can be mounted parallel to each other in a common passage passing through the plate, with their free ends protruding from the later on the opposite side to the notch, with hooks on the free ends bearing against the plate edge so that they cannot fall out. The blades are clamped by a spring (24) loaded piston (23) which may be locked by a knurled knob (25) fitting on a threaded stud (26) on the piston.
