Abstract

The system for photo-chemical manufacture of a screen-printing matrix has a photo-sensitive coating which is applied to at least one side of a cloth woven as a tube or flat and attached to a tube or rod. A tubular, transparent print former in the negative of the desired screen/print matrix is attached to the photosensitised cloth and the cloth radially and axially stressed to fit the negative. The whole is then illuminated from the negative side and the photo-sensitive layer is washed leaving behind the matrix required with the appropriate design axes printed. The screen printing drum carries a hermetically sealed and deformable plastics chamber which is in close contact with the drum.
