Abstract

The machine will perform the functions of tearing, grinding and compacting material. The machine is loaded by means of a feed hopper which is fitted with a screw conveyor. The tearing and grinding is effected by a curved bar fitted in the path of the conveyor. The smaller sized material is then fed to the compacting stage. This consists of a long tube sloping upwards. The tube is formed from a semi-cylindrical section joined to two pivotal quarter cylindrical sections whose adjacent edges are joined by spring loaded tie rods. Adjustment of the latter varies the section of the tube.
