Abstract

Water distributor is intended to be connected to a water softener, to the mains supplying hard water and to the distribution system with the object of regulating the total hardness by means of valves which can be opened, completely or partially, on the various inlets. The body of the tubular distributor is open at the two ends and is fitted with lateral connections. A stem carries a stopper, a valve and another stopper. The stopper is extended by a guide-piece which can slide into an end-piece without affecting the flow of the softened water. At the other end of the stem is extended at (144) where it penetrates into a plug; it is screwed internally to receive a manipulating rod. By turning the rod, the sliding assembly on the stem can be made to advance or withdraw so that the softener can be put out of action and the valve between the stoppers can be closed or left partly open to allow a minimum passage of hard water to the distribution system. By closing and partly opening the valve, the total hardness can be regulated between a max. and a min. Once adjusted, there is no risk of stopping, or unduly limiting, the passage of hard water.
