Abstract

Thermosetting compsns. comprise (1) an imide prepolymer obtd. from (a) a bis-imide of formula (I): (where D is of formula (II)-(IV): Y is H, CH3 or Cl m is 0 or 1, and A is 2-30C divalent org. gp) and (b) an amine comprising polyamines contg. 2-5 prim. or sec. amino gps. >=1 gp. being prim. opt. mixed with prim. and/or sec. monoamines and/or sec. polyamine(s), and (2) a phenolic resin, the amts. of (a) and (b) being such that the wt. ratio phenolic resin/prepolymer is 0.1-9, and the ratio no. of double bonds in (a)/no. of -NH2 gps. in (b) is 0.6-50 pref.
