Abstract

The device is for cleaning heating-surfaces in boilers which comprise tube nets connected alternately at two levels with a hollow rod running across them, the two rods being hinged at their open ends to a two-armed lever, with a driving cylinder engaging on its pivot. The effective arms of this lever are of unequal length, and its pivotal point distance below the plane of the suspension points of the tube nets is equal to twice the product of the distances of the upper and lower hollow rods from the suspension point, divided by the sum of these same distances. The danger, in such vibrating devices, of transmitting the periodic forces from the tube nest mass motion to the boiler, via their carrier elements, ie eliminated.
