Abstract

The attachment comprises a base plate (1) below which is a screw clamp for securing the base plate (1) to the microscope. Two pivoted arms (12, 13) below the base plate (1) allow a polariser (16) and an analyser (18) to be selectively brought into the operative position, either together or one at a time. The upper arm (13) carries the analyser support (17) so that the latter can be rotated, the analyser support (17) having an angular scale which moves relative to a fixed pointer. The microscope slide support can be moved transversely and longitudinally with guide means between the base plate (1) and the slide rail for the longitudinal movement of the slide support.
