Abstract
A wind driven turbo generator is housed in duct (1) which is in the form of a venturi. The shaft (25) carries the rotating blades (8) to (16) and is mounted in bearings (28) and (29) which are supported by the fixed vanes (30) and (31). The fixed blades (17) to (24) are supported by the turbine housing (32) which fits in the parallel portion (4) of the duct (1). The turbine drives an electric generator (36) through the coupling (38). A governor (40) controls the speed by adjusting the inlet shutters (43)(44)(45)(46) through an electric actuator. The weather vane (60) controls the electric motor which rotates the pinion to drive the gear wheel to keep the duct (1) facing in the direction of the wind.
