Abstract

The combined antenna and heating element, for motor vehicles, has the parallel heating wires (2) connected at their ends to terminal wires (3). One terminal wire is connected via an h.f. blocking choke (65) to earth, and via a d.c. blocking capacitor (10) to the cable (11) that leads to the radio receiver (9). The other terminal wire is connected over an h.f. blocking choke (7) to a switch (8) that connects it to the battery's unearthed terminal. An h.f. earthing capacitor (18) earths the junction between choke and switch. The chokes prevent h.f. signals from reaching the battery, and the first capacitor (10) prevents the d.c. heating current from reaching the receiver.
