Abstract

The ventilator has an outer piece (1) and a rectangular frame section (10) fitting into the opening in the wall (3). It has a flange (4) abutting on the outside face of the wall so that the front (1) of it is well clear of the wall. It is open at the bottom, closed at the sides (7), and the upper part (5) of the front slopes back and has perforations (8) in it. The inner section of the ventilator has a perforated plate (12) set back within the wall. Outside air flowing upwards by natural convection through the hood formed by the outer piece causes a depression in the recess between the outer hood and the recessed grille and thus induces room air to flow out.
