Abstract

Wood base panels are prepd. from chip, fibres etc. with added synthetic binder, opt. with synthetic resin impregnated paper coating sheets, by introducing the wood-based cakes to be pressed on loading supports into a platen press in which they are subjected to pressure and heat. The press is closed and pressure is applied with subsequent heating while maintaining the pressure. Pref. the cakes to be pressed are introduced either or cooled supports or ambient temp. at the same time as the platen press is cooled.
