Abstract

Electrode carrier for arc welding, comprises a body provided at one end with a cable connection device for supply of electric current, lodged inside an unsulating, protective sheath, is characterised in that the body (1) is a tube in which runs a (2) rod supported on a spring (7); at least one hole running transversely through rod, body or both, through which the electrode passes such that it can be clamped between the edges of the hole in either body or rod and the other element, and a device is provided for displacing the rod against the spring so as to face the electrode. The electrode can be readily displaced as it becomes a worn away.
