Abstract
Microporous ceramic filter is made from a microporous ceramic support with a microporous coating, by treating the support to make it electrically conducting, immersing it in a soln. contg. a suspension of the microporous coating matl. and setting up a potential difference between the support and a counter electrode causing the suspended particles to deposit electrophoretically and finally heat treating the coated support in a controlled atmosphere. The application of a coating of this type to a porous ceramic is new-prior art only applied such coatings to metals-hence the ceramic filter has improved chemical resistance.
